TORONTO (August 3, 2011) – Tori Spelling came to Toronto today to help McCain Foods (Canada) launch its newest product offering, McCain® Ultra Thin Crust pizza. Made with a delicate layer of gourmet toppings and an ultra thin, light, crispy crust that is twice as thin as other thin crust pizzas, McCain Ultra Thin Crust pizza was created specifically for women who crave great taste.
“I was so impressed with how delicious McCain Ultra Thin Crust pizza tasted! My fave is the Roasted Mushroom & Garlic,” says Spelling, who is currently starring in her new show sTORIbook Weddings on Slice Network, helping couples prepare for the altar with style, grace, of course impeccable taste. “This is not your husband’s deep dish pizza or your kid’s pepperoni pizza, this pizza is for the ladies!”
At The Thompson Hotel today, Spelling hosted a Slice of Reality event where she helped McCain introduce Canadian women to five delicious Ultra Thin Crust pizza flavours:
o Spinach & Provolone – spinach, provolone cheese and roasted garlic
o Roasted Mushroom & Garlic – roasted mushrooms, red onions and garlic
o Pollo Pizza – roasted red peppers, chicken and asiago
o Roasted Vegetable & Goat Cheese – roasted red and yellow peppers, roasted mushrooms, roasted zucchini and goat cheese
o Capicollo – capicollo ham, roasted mushrooms and roasted red peppers
“We know that when it comes to flavour, McCain Ultra Thin Crust pizza delivers a gourmet pizza experience that women love,” says Paul Gallagher, Director of Marketing, McCain Foods (Canada). “In fact, we’ve had an unprecedented number of consumers write or call to tell us that this is the best thin crust pizza they’ve ever tasted.”
In addition to offering gourmet flavour combinations on a light, crispy crust, Ultra Thin Crust pizza is made with real ingredients women can feel good about eating and serving to friends and family.
“In 2009 we launched our McCain It’s All GoodTM initiative and have reformulated more than 80 pizza and potato product recipes without compromising on great taste. We’ve taken out ingredients that you can’t recognize or pronounce and replaced them with simple, wholesome ingredients like you would find in your own kitchen,” adds Gallagher.
“With McCain, you can clearly see what’s in our pizzas – recipe cards on the back of the box show you exactly what ingredients are in the crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. You won’t find ingredients like mono and diglycerides, artificial colours or flavours in our pizzas.”
Spelling says next to the great taste, that’s what she likes best about McCain pizza.
