Veritas is the lead sponsor at an exciting Advertising Week event taking place in Toronto today. Leading Social Change is exploring how a partnership between social issues and advertising can create positive social change. Beverley Hammond, our president, is speaking at the event, introducing the keynote speaker, Emmy and Edward R. Murrow award-winning ABC News London Correspondent, Jeffrey Kofman.

At Veritas, we’ve had the incredible fortune of working on programs that go beyond campaigns or tactics to create true movements (the Girls20 Summit being just one such example).

In Bev’s remarks today, she’ll speak to why that’s such a powerful idea. About how the natural human desire to connect and join is at the core of truly successful social marketing campaigns. And that our job is about creating artificial conditions to promote adoption and acceptance but to harness those that already exist. Because only through this approach can we affect not just behavior change , but ultimately, social change.

For those of you lucky enough to be at the session today, please say hi to Bev. Not able to be there in person? We’d love to hear your thoughts on social change in the comments below.
